The 27th annual Drop it, Build it, Fly it, Launch it, Thrill it Engineering Competition will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9 at the South Florida Science Museum, 4801 Dreher Trail N. With $5,000 in cash prizes, five different design contests are offered. Kids from elementary to high school build bridges, protection for eggs, paper airplanes and more. The deadline to register is March 1. The competition will be judged by the Florida Engineering Society. Entry and admission are free for participants and a parent or teacher.
