Carmela’s Brick Over Pizza serves some of the best pizza in Stuart, along with other Italian favorites. The adjacent Wine Bar is worth a visit as well.

MENU

Italian eatery and pizzeria, with appetizers, salads, soups, hot and cold sandwiches, pasta, chicken, seafood, veal, pizza, calzones, desserts. Adjacent wine bar.

ATMOSPHERE

Chic and charming, with a cozy dining room on one side and elegant wine bar on the other. The dining area’s marble-topped tables, brick accents and soft lighting make you feel right at home as rich Italian smells waft through the room. There’s also a small dining area outside.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

We started dinner with a Greek salad ($8) and heavenly garlic knots (a steal at 25 cents each) and found ourselves “oohing” and “aahing” before the main course was served. The Carmela’s works pizza ($18) was indescribably good New York-style pizza, with sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms, onions and green peppers layered upon a medium-thick golden crust. We’d heard this eatery served some of the best pizza in Stuart, and we weren’t disappointed.

REASON TO GO

Fresh, tasty pasta and pizza at a price that won’t break the bank. The atmosphere is inviting, and for an elegant night out, try the wine bar with its appetizer menu, dozens of wines and occasional live music.

SERVICE

Very good. The waitress was quick to refill drinks and offer helpful advice about the various types of pizza served here.

NOISE LEVEL

Moderate chatter and Italian music playing in the background.

KID FRIENDLY

No separate children’s menu, but what kid doesn’t love a hot slice of pizza?
