SUNDAY SPECIAL: SUPER BOWL EATS
Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
So you didn’t make that Super Bowl chili or fire up the grill for game day burgers or make your famous hot crab dip.
You meant to do it up, NOLA-themed and all. But you didn’t. You did something else. Now it’s Super Bowl Sunday, and you may think your dining options are as dim as Manti Te’o’s love life.
Ah, but there are food options, football fans – and options that don’t involve cooking. Here are a half-dozen of them:
—
CANTINA LAREDO
The Mexican cantina is offering a “Fajita Fiesta” to go for $10 per person. If you’d rather have your fajitas at the eatery, you can pair them with $5 ‘Ritas and 2-buck draft beers (dine in only). The offer, which excludes tax and tip, is good only today.

GREASE BURGER
The Clematis burger joint is throwing a Super Bowl bash amid the flicker of more than 20 HD flat screen TVs. Besides its 15-plus varieties of burgers – perhaps none more football-appropriate than the Black and Blue burger that’s seared with blackening spices and topped with blue cheese and applewood smoked bacon – Grease serves mean bratwurst, wings and sandwiches.
For the pairing, there’s $12 buckets of Bud Light, an extensive craft beer menu (at least 110 selections), plus plenty of bourbon and whiskey. And free Jello shots each time the Ravens or the 49ers score. The fun starts at 5 p.m.

RA SUSHI
The Palm Beach Gardens sushi bar is intent on luring football-watching fans away from the ribs and wings fare. RA is offering five combo platters laden with anywhere between 52 and 119 pieces (random, huh?) and priced between $50 and $120.
There’s a colorful vegetarian combo. We like the look of the Tsukiji combo (with 32 pieces of nigiri and various rolls for $100) and the Harajuku combo (a mammoth offering of nigiri and a superb mix of rolls for $120).

ANTHONY’S COAL FIRE PIZZA
As it did last year, the coal-fired pizza spot is offering its Italian Tailgate menu, which pretty much is a party in a box. At $13 per person, the special includes traditional or specialty pizza, large hand-rolled meatballs, Anthony’s Italian salad, pork spareribs with vinegar peppers and oven-roasted chicken wings.
There’s a minimum of 10 people to an order. And, in case you’re wondering why the $13 price: the number is a tribute to the number on a certain Miami Dolphin jersey. Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino is a partner at Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza.

DUFFY’S
Today’s special at the county’s go-to sports bar is called the “Big Game Blowout” – otherwise known as 25 boneless wing, with blue cheese, celery and carrots, for $9.95. The special, which is offered at all Duffy’s locations, only applies to take-out orders.
The PGA location is offering a “Reserve a Seat for the Big Game” special that includes all you can eat and drink throughout the game, plus a reserved seat. The deal is $79.99 per person (plus tax and 18 percent gratuity), and payment is due at time of reservation.
