Home-cooked meals please diners at Mom’s Kitchen

By Tami Tolley

MENU

Mom’s Kitchen offers a variety of home-cooked meals that will satisfy breakfast, lunch or dinner appetites.

ATMOSPHERE

Old school diner feel. This restaurant is aptly named. It’s small and very cozy. The wood paneling and curtains on every window are an added touch.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

We were there for the early bird (4-6 p.m.). I had the chicken tips over rice with veggies ($9.95) that was delicious. The chicken was so tender and the vegetables were fresh. My husband enjoyed the marinated pork tenderloin ($9.95). My oldest son devoured his shrimp scampi ($12.95). My other son ordered the steak Caesar salad ($6.95). The steak was very tasty and the Caesar dressing was one of his favorites. My daughter went with a turkey club sandwich ($6.95).

REASON TO GO

The food was excellent, and the portions were very generous. They have dishes on the menu to please the whole family.

SERVICE

As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted and seated. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

NOISE LEVEL

Surprisingly, the noise level was not bad at all considering every table was full and the restaurant is small.

KID FRIENDLY

Our children, who are teenagers, really enjoyed their dinners. The younger ones have a lot to choose from and will definitely enjoy the options. It’s Mom’s Kitchen — how could it not be perfect for kids?
