When it comes to dining on the beach, the food generally isn’t the greatest lure. Gentle ocean breezes, a nice view of the sand volleyball court (and the players, perhaps) and the perfect beachy cocktail.

Located a stone’s throw into Broward County, JB’s has the trifecta: delicious beach food, strong (and tasty) drinks, and a view that will keep you in your chair all day.

Whether you decide to order a bunch of appetizers or dive into one of the more substantial entrees, don’t miss the bocce balls appetizer. These are little balls of fresh mozz, surrounded with pesto and served with a roasted tomato aioli.

We gobbled them far faster than we would have their boring cousins – the predictable mozzarella sticks. And then we wanted more.

Don’t miss the lobster pizza with a roasted garlic cream and still good the next day, or the coconut fried shrimp – a staple for any beach dining done well. We also sampled a Thai chicken satay, JB’s cheeseburger and the Bahamian seafood chowder.

The large, enticing menu offers something for just about every palate.

The drinks are de-lish — and, did we mention, strong? The entertainment is frequent – check online for who’s crooning when. And the view – picture perfect, no matter when you visit.
