MENU

Breakfast is served all day and includes eggs, pancakes, French toast and waffles. House specials kick things up a notch, with breakfast (potato) skins, tenderloin tips and eggs, quesadillas and burritos. For lunch, there are sandwiches, burgers, salads and various platters.

ATMOSPHERE

Beachy. Inside is bright and comfortable; outside it’s breezy and relaxing. Either way, you feel like you’re on vacation.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

I ordered a Mediterranean omelet ($9.25) featuring my favorite things: spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese. It was bursting with all three ingredients. On the side were hash browns, grilled to crunchy perfection. My husband and I shared a short stack of banana walnut pancakes ($5.65). The 53-year-old family recipe did not disappoint, and there were walnuts and bananas galore. But I did bite down hard on a dime-sized walnut shell in the pancake, which was unpleasant.

REASON TO GO

A wonderful selection of breakfasts at good prices.

SERVICE

Our server was friendly and welcoming, but not overly concerned about the walnut shell in the pancake.

NOISE LEVEL

We were sitting inside and the café was full, so there was a lot of chatter. A little more distracting, however, was the steady stream of customers coming in from the patio area to pay their bills at the cashier. In the future, I would choose a table away from the door.

KID FRIENDLY

It’s a great place to take the kids, and we saw many families with youngsters dining. There are breakfast and lunch menus for the younger set.
