Best French Fries (BFF) food truck expects you to make a lot of decisions.

It starts by asking you to choose your tater: Sweet, white or yuca? (Thank goodness there’s a mixed option for the Libras in the group – ahem.)

Then it’s on to preparation method: fried or cooked? And finally there’s the dipping sauce question: Do you want to go the traditional route? Curry ketchup, perhaps? An exotic tikka masala? A Southern brown gravy? Or the popular garlic butter Parmesan or creamy garlic cilantro or Sriracha sour cream?

There are 27 dipping sauces to choose from, to be exact, including standbys like barbecue, mayo and blue cheese. A huge cone of French fries comes with two dipping sauces for $6 (additional dipping sauces are 50 cents). I recommend the garlic butter Parmesan and the creamy garlic cilantro.

These are the best French fries this foodie has experienced. The potatoes are bought fresh the morning they’re cooked, they’re thick cut, long and sturdy, and they perfectly scoop up the delicious dipping sauces. Consider me now a BFF stalker.

In the mood for dessert? There are caramel apple, chocolate, marshmallow and peanut butter sauces. For these sauces, you get fries that are more like funnel cakes – still made with real fries or sweet potatoes, but sliced thin with an apple peeler. The dessert sweet potato fries are drowned in brown sugar, cinnamon, and a bit of nutmeg.

The Lake Worth-based food truck first popped up a couple of months ago, after at least two years of planning. Six months of French fry research went into this baby. The truck is the brainchild of owner Debbie Harris — she fell in love with the “chips” that were on every corner in Holland and Belgium while backpacking through Europe with her husband, “before kids” in 2005 and 2006.

In addition to making a splash – and many new friends - at food truck rallies, breweries, Farmer’s markets and other local events, the BFF truck is available for catering (what better way to end a wedding than with a big cone of French Fries?).
