Though it may not have been in the same location as long as some other local steakhouses, Callaro’s in Lake Worth jumped to the front of the line, winning our Taking Your Pulse poll for favorite local steak.

Callaro’s, which recently moved to Lake Worth after 10 years in Manalapan, picked up 33 percent of the vote to win the poll, which ended up with more than 1,000 votes.

Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach finished second at 20 percent, followed by Palm Beach Gardens’ III Forks at 10 percent.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House had 8 percent of the vote, and then came a logjam for fifth place. Three restaurants all ended up with the same number of votes: Morton’s in West Palm Beach; Capital Grille, which has locations in Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens, and another restaurant with a Gardens location, The River House. They all had 4 percent of the vote, and were mere votes ahead of two other restaurants, Longhorn Steak House and Boca’s Red The Steakhouse.
