One of our area’s top speciality markets beat out the big guys in our poll this week, trying to find the local favorite for picking up meat or fish for grilling.

Joseph’s Classic Market — though perhaps known a bit more for its prepared food — edged out such bigger spots as Publix, Whole Foods and Costco for the top position in our Taking Your Pulse poll. Joseph’s ended up with 21 percent of the vote, beating out Publix at 13 percent.

Carmine’s, another specialty store, ended up in third at 11 percent, while Whole Foods was fourth at 9 percent.

Costco, which was added late due to your requests, rounded out the top five at 8 percent.

Other stores which the fans backed but weren’t initially included were Oxtails & More in West Palm Beach and The Boys Market in Delray Beach.
