This time around, apizza ended up on top.

Nick’s New Haven Style, which calls its premiere dish “apizza”, won the Taking Your Pulse poll for favorite local pizza with 33 percent of the vote.

The Boca restaurant prefers to call its pizza “apizza” after the Neapolitan pizza common in the Connecticut city which also gave the eatery part of its name.

More than 1,000 votes were cast, which made this one of the most popular polls we’ve had for Taking Your Pulse.

Four Brothers Pizza, which has several locations in the county, ended up second at 17 percent, followed by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza at 10 percent.

Grimaldi’s ended up at 8 percent, while Palm Springs Pizza was fifth at 7 percent.
