ATMOSPHERE

Think Caribbean cruise buffet meets TGIFriday’s. Jumby Bay is a big, loud, colorful party place with bar specials, live music many nights, and a good-sized patio to do some Abacoa people-watching. The restaurant also welcomes NFL and college football fans for game days with beer specials and more.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

The lobster bisque with lump crab meat ($6) was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spices. Island kabobs - two skewers of pineapples, red pepper, onions, mushrooms, zucchini and plantains ($10 vegetarian, $15 with chicken, $16 with shrimp) were grilled to perfection with fresh, juicy veggies and a soft, steaming bed of tropical rice. Fresh fruit slices added zing to the sesame seared tuna salad ($15), with toasted almonds and ginger citrus dressing.

REASON TO GO

A fun atmosphere with something on the menu to please almost everyone, and large portions too.

SERVICE

Our waiter was polite and attentive, and came around to check on us often. When I was halfway done with my fruity frozen drink, I started hitting big chunks of ice that hadn’t been properly blended. When I pointed it out to our waiter he apologized profusely and immediately fetched me a new, full drink.

NOISE LEVEL

Loud, but because of the size and acoustics of the restaurant, my companion and I were still able to have a conversation with no problem.

KID FRIENDLY

Yes. Also, kids eat free Monday through Thursday from the kids menu with an adult entree purchase.
