Flavor Palm Beach: Our Top 5 Picks

By Liz Balmaseda

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

The Flavor promotion offers diners a chance to dine sumptuously at restaurants that may be slightly out of reach during season or when regularly priced. For full list of restaurants, menus and reservation links, visit FlavorPB.com through the end of September.

Here, from north to south, are our best-value picks:

3800 Ocean

3800 North Ocean Drive (at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort and Spa), Singer Island; (561) 340-1795; dinner $35 per person

This ocean-front resort serves splendidly prepared dishes. Among the Flavor menu choices: corn “chowdah” appetizer, Dijon-herb crusted salmon entrée, chocolate tres leches dessert.

Imoto

350 South County Road, Palm Beach; (561) 833-5522; dinner $30

Chef Clay Conley works out his Asian inspirations at this sliver of a restaurant next door to his popular Buccan bistro in Palm Beach. A Flavor meal here may start with tuna crisps with avocado, soy and citrus vinaigrette, continue with grilled Waygu beef shortrib with fried rice and kimchee, and sweetly conclude with green tea mille crepe cake.

Max’s Harvest

169 NE 2nd Ave Avenue, Delray Beach; (561) 381-9970; dinner $35

One of south county’s finest restaurants, Max’s Harvest offers soulful, farm-to-table fare from chef Chris Miracolo’s kitchen. Your Flavor dinner choices include pork belly with a maple-bourbon glaze and collard greens, Maine diver scallops with coconut risotto, and fresh fried doughnuts with custard sauce and berry preserves.

The Office

201 East Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach; (561) 276-3600; dinner $35

Atlantic Ave’s popular gastro pub is serving a Flavor menu that’s decidedly comfort fare. Among options, you can start with some warm baked pretzel bread served with house-made beer mustard and Tallegio cheese, proceed with a Prime CEO Burger topped with sweet onion and tomato confit, Maytag blue cheese, Gruyere, bacon and arugula, and wrap up the night with a bit of decadence known as “Miss Piggy Goes to Vermont,” maple-glazed bacon doughnuts, coffee crème Anglaise and chocolate sauce.

Rack’s Downtown Eatery and Tavern

402 Plaza Real (Mizner Park), Boca Raton; (561) 395-1662; dinner $35

Fun, casual Racks Downtown Eatery offers a tavern-worthy Flavor menu at Mizner Park. Options include: crispy goat cheese salad, veal and wild mushroom meatloaf and a mini hot fudge sundae.
