MENU

Taverna Opa serves up Greek staples such as lamb, octopus, pastitsio and moussaka. Dinner entrees cost $15 to $29. There’s also an extensive menu of wine and cocktails.

ATMOSPHERE

Festive. Taverna Opa is situated in a busy part of CityPlace, and our Saturday night visit included performances by a belly dancer.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

The filet mignon kebab ($19) included a generous serving of tender steak, although the vegetables and rice were quite greasy. We also liked the large Greek salad ($14), which was big and included stuffed grape leaves.

REASON TO GO

A fun vibe and good eats.

SERVICE

Adequate. Our server wasn’t especially enthusiastic, but she did a competent job.

NOISE LEVEL

Moderate to loud, but that’s part of the appeal. We were able to carry on a conversation.

KID FRIENDLY

Yes. There’s no children’s menu, but Taverna Opa’s My Big Fat Greek Night Out atmosphere is casual enough that you won’t feel out of place if you bring your kids.
