La Fogata in Palm Beach Gardens is a festive, friendly Mexican eatery.

MENU

Authentically Mexican with a wide variety of appetizers and entrees, including enchiladas, burritos and fajitas. Soup and salad choices are plentiful. Desserts include flan, tres leches (sponge cake soaked in cream) and sopapillas (fried pastry).

ATMOSPHERE

Festive and friendly, with plenty of seating.

FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

It was tough to choose between the pollo a la plancha ($13.25) — marinated, charbroiled chicken breasts with guacamole and pico de gallo — or the fajita trio ($21.95), with shrimp, steak and chicken. Both entrees were served with rice and refried beans. Our kids opted for a beef taco and a cheese quesadilla (both $4.50). For dessert we shared two orders of deep fried ice cream ($3.95 each).

REASON TO GO

Quality food at reasonable prices, plus an endless basket of chips and salsa.

SERVICE

Fast, friendly and efficient.

NOISE LEVEL

Moderate. Mexican music played in the background, but it wasn’t overwhelming.

KID-FRIENDLY

Definitely. Entrees include tacos, quesadillas, hamburgers, chicken nuggets and other kid-friendly fare.
