Shrimpers leans over the water of Port Salerno’s Manatee Pocket, making for refreshing breezes and great water views.

MENU

A variety of seafood raw bar selections including oysters and clams, plus salads, sandwiches, chowders, pasta, steaks, fried seafood platters, and a changing lineup of fresh catches such as grouper, snapper and salmon.

ATMOSPHERE

Open air, with breezes and fan pulses instead of air conditioning, The restaurant leans over the water of Port Salerno’s Manatee Pocket, with multiple levels of tables, booths and bar counters. A tiny, ancient fishing boat rusts away in front of the entrance while working vessels cruise in and out of the marina. During the season there can be a wait for tables, but in summer you can breeze right in.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

Grilled red snapper ($19.95), ordered from the fresh catch menu. The large, quality fillet was perfectly prepared, tender and moist, served with garlic mashed potatoes.

REASON TO GO

Fresh seafood served in a casual setting with water views.

SERVICE

The staff was helpful and attentive.

NOISE LEVEL

It’s a comfortable volume, even with the chorus of fans cranked up high.

KID FRIENDLY

Very much so, with plenty of distractions afloat on the breeze and water — birds, boats, and sometimes even a manatee.
