People often say it’s too late, or they’re too old, to start singing or playing an instrument. For those folks, local inspiration exists in the form of Peter Dusinberre (facebook.com/.peter.dusinberre).

The 49-year-old Boynton Beach singer/songwriter still hadn’t started performing on guitar and harmonica when he left his native Lockport, NY to attend college in Pennsylvania. Or when he moved to Lake Worth in 1986, or even to Boynton in 1995.

“I always loved music, but I didn’t even start playing guitar until my senior year of high school,” Dusinberre says. “I jammed with friends, but didn’t sing at open mikes until 1999, when I was 36.”

That led to a 1999-2010 run with Midlife Crysis, an area band that’s continued on since Dusinberre left to pursue a solo career. In addition to that and running his home-based business, C&D Custom Homes, he formed the rock band Crazy Chester last year with veteran area performers Geoff Livingston (bass, vocals) and Steve Riedel (drums).

Dusinberre’s solo and full-band gigs showcase his expressive voice, playing, and time-honored influences: Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and The Band.
