Wait for it. It will waft in as it does each year: the aroma of fresh-made fancy food, the clinking of wine glasses, the chatter of gastronauts between bites.

Ah, yes, foodie season is upon us.

How do we know this? It brings a fresh crop of tastings, such as next week’s Tastemakers event at Mizner Park in Boca.

Tastemakers is a two-night progressive dinner that happens Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. It’s a moveable feast that takes you to nine restaurants for a food and beverage pairing at each stop.

Stop at the Cheese Course, for instance, and you’ll get an American artisanal cheese dish with a pour of American wine. At the Dubliner, you’ll nosh on shepherd’s pie with Guinness mac-and-cheese and sip a “Black Velvet,” a Guinness and cider cocktail. At Uncle Julio’s, you’ll take a dip into pineapple-bacon guacamole and toast with a Skinny Guava Rita.

At Rack’s, you’ll dig into tuna tacos and chase them with a cocktail called the Boca Lemonade. You’ll get crab cakes and Bellinis at Villagio, and crab cake sliders and cava at Truluck’s. The vibe turns fancy at Max’s Grill, which is serving baby shrimp ceviche and pouring a fizzy Mionetto il Spritz, an Italian aperitif that’s scented with citrus and herbs.

You’ll sample the flavor-nuanced chicken fried rice at Kapow!, along with the Asian eatery’s sangria. And at Tanzy, you’ll pair your Prickly Pear Sour-Sop margarita with some rustic tagliatelle Bolognese.

In addition to the tastings, each restaurant is serving up special offers, which you can cash in during the next three months.

The nine-stop feast, which benefits Hospice by the Sea, costs $30 per person.

Tickets: available at any participating restaurant or online at MiznerPark.com.

Info: Mizner Park is at 327 Plaza Real, in Downtown Boca Raton. For more information, call (561) 362-0606.
