All the world's "The Stage": Poetry event moves to La Fonda

Local spoken word fans have needed a map and a compass to follow The Stage, which has had to move homes several times recently because the venues it inhabited kept closing. But now, the Wednesday night open mic, whose mood is something like a slow jam but sometimes without music, has moved to La Fonda, 2845 N Military Trail Suite 28-37.

Poet Desiree Karnis, who runs the night, says all poets, writers, comedians, musicians and artists in general are welcome - "We even had an artist come do a live installation a few weeks ago," she says.

La Fonda feature Latin Fusion Food, $10 hookahs, $3 beers, $5 drink specials and seats over 100 people! This week's event will be Battle of The Sexes Slam Women vs. Men! Doors open at 8pm and just $5 before 9:30! For more information please call 561-215-6102.
