On the outside, Lantana Pizza II is a cozy, romantic restaurant spilling elegantly out onto an intimate Manalapan courtyard, just steps from the ocean, the Ritz-Carlton and implied fanciness. But at its heart, it’s an old-school, sweet pizzeria that moved on up, to the east side to a deluxe shopping center in the sky-y-y. The friendly, handy servers are down-to-earth, the garlic knots are insane, the house wine is $5, and we got a full dinner for two for $40. And not the early bird special, either. Fancy, inexpensive and garlicky. Yum.
