Relish serves gourmet burgers with exotic toppings. Prices range from $7.99 for the basic beef burger to $17.99 for a lobster burger. There are also burgers made of turkey, wild mushroom, shrimp, tilapia and buffalo. Relish mixes up 20 types of burger toppings, including artichoke spinach spread and apple kraut. The menu includes salads, milkshakes and an extensive beer selection.

ATMOSPHERE

Casual but hip. You order at the counter, so the vibe is laid-back. Creative menu items and sleek decor turn up the hipness quotient, and the Northwood neighborhood was surprisingly active during our Saturday night visit.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

The wild boar burger ($11.99) with blackberry compote was gamey and filling. The build-a-salad ($8.99) offered plenty of fresh ingredients and was large enough to feed two people. The shakes ($6.13 each) were pricey but rich and thick enough to merit the price.

REASON TO GO

The unique menu remains the main draw. Relish serves quick, quality eats.

You order at the counter, so service isn’t a major factor, but our servers were pleasant and efficient.

Yes. The menu includes a kids burger and fries ($4.99), and the milkshakes were a hit with my kids.
