Surfers, beach-lovers will enjoy Longboards menu, vibe

By Jeff Ostrowski

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

MENU

LongBoards serves up fish, shrimp and seafood chowders, along with steaks, burgers and tacos. Lunch plates cost $7 to $16. Dinner entrees are $9 to $21.95. LongBoards has a long beer list and also serves wine and cocktails.

ATMOSPHERE

Surfy. Surf videos play on the televisions, and classic longboards hang from the walls. A bar dominates the dining room, and booths line the walls

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

The sea bass special ($21) came with a fresh piece of fish, but the real hit was the side order of Brussels sprouts, which were quartered and cooked with bacon. We also liked the shrimp cocktail ($11).

REASON TO GO

A fun vibe and good eats.

SERVICE

Friendly and attentive. Our servers stopped by often.

NOISE LEVEL

Moderate. Music played on the speakers, but we were able to carry on a conversation.

KID FRIENDLY

Sort of. There’s no children’s menu, but the atmosphere is casual enough that you won’t feel out of place if you bring your kids.
