Davy Jones turned down an offer to do Dancing With the Stars last year, but the perennial Monkee’s got all the right moves to win, his wife Jessica Pacheco says — especially if she were his partner.

“He would win for sure,” laughs Pacheco, a professional dancer whose troupe, Flamenco Express, is performing at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart on Feb. 23. “The only problem we would have is me letting him lead!” Pacheco has been Jones’ partner in wedded life since 2009, but her Flamenco Express partner Jose Junco has swept her off her feet for almost 20 years. “We’re best friends, and we know each other so well,” says Pacheco, 34, who is also known to Latin audiences for a role in the Dame Chocolate soap opera on Telemundo.

Zumba lovers may recognize Junco from his flamenco moves on exercise DVDs by Zumba creator Beto Perez. The dancers met in Miami, Pacheco’s home town, when she was performing with a classical Spanish dance company, and Junco, who’s from Madrid, came in as a guest entertainer. Since then, they’ve danced their way around the world, including three weeks on the Grand Princess cruise ship this January. Their brand-new show at the Lyric features eight dancers and four musicians performing traditional flamenco dance, plus classical Spanish dance, modern rhythms and a little belly dancing. The costumes and music will “give you goosebumps,” Pacheco says. “I put my heart in my hand … anyone who goes to see it will enjoy it.” And as for the two men in her life, she says they have one thing in common: They can tell what she’s thinking. “When you’ve danced with someone a long time, you can look at each other and see by their eyes what they are going to do. If Jose’s eyebrow goes up, I know he’s going to the right. If he takes a deep breath in, I know we’re putting our arms up. “With my husband, he knows what I’m thinking even when I don’t know what I’m thinking,” she says, laughing. “So I’m in trouble all around!”
