West Palm Beach wine dinners keep things hopping

By Lynn Kalber

During the summer, when the livin’ is easy (and hot, hot, hot), take a break from cooking to attend one of the many local wine dinners. Here are two coming up:

The Backyard Bar at the Hibiscus House in downtown West Palm Beach offers a sparkling wine reception with appetizers and then a three-course meal today, all for $45. Featured will be BulletProof Wines, and food by Chef Michael Ober. All of this in a tropical setting, starting at 6:30 p.m.; call 561-339-2444 for reservations.

Another option, in an equally delightful setting, is Rhythm Café’s wine dinner Thursday, featuring Oregon wines. The five-course meal includes pairings with chardonnay, pinot noirs, syrah and riesling. As usual, this West Palm Beach restaurant’s promised menu from Chef Ken Rzab sounds delicious; for $70 (that includes tax and tip), starting at 6:30 p.m. Call 561-833-3406 for reservations.
