A new co-anchor will join the lineup at WPBF Channel 25, the station announced on its website.

The local ABC affiliate said that Todd McDermott will join veterans Tiffany Kenney and Mike Lyons at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. on weekdays.

McDermott will debut during coverage of the Oct. 22 presidential debate at Lynn University.

McDermott comes from WPXI in Pittsburgh, where he anchored the morning and noon newscasts.

He worked previously in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. While in New York, he also worked a national correspondent and host of the CBS Early Show, according to the website.

McDermott told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that a big part of his decision was based on wanting to live closer to his daughter Madissen, who lives in West Palm Beach.

“Family comes first,” he said.

McDermott also has a son, Max, according to WPBF’s website.

McDermott graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo.

“I’ve spent a great deal of time in West Palm Beach over the years and it already feels like home to me,” he said.
