With the heat index hovering around 100 this week, it’s hard to conjure thoughts of fall. But, rest assured, retailers have already considered what might sell like hotcakes come autumn…

Target just unveiled some of its cool-weather accessories, which will trickle into stores over the next few months.

They aren’t the edgiest offerings, but in this economy, do you play it safe or stock items so incredible that they’re irresistible? Target, for one, appears to be betting on budget-friendly versions of the booties and chain necklaces that’ve been popular the last couple of seasons:

target-peep-toe
Mossimo Peep-Toe Tie Pumps in Black, $29.99

Tote-ally versatile!
target-bag
Mossimo Tote in Silver, $26.99

target-necklace
Multi-Chain Necklace in Silver, $14.99
(I already own a couple of necklaces like this — love them!!! — and for less than $15 a pop, I expect I’ll buy a couple of more before the trend runs its course.)

target-belt
Mossimo Cut-Out Lace Belt in Black, $16.99
Pretty, and the cut-out pattern gives it a lightness appropriate to South Florida’s balmy fall weather.
