Who doesn’t love three-day weekends? This Labor Day weekend, I’m making a quick getaway to Atlanta (or Hotlanta, considering it’s supposed to be warm and humid) to spend some quality time with my friends, Erin and Marc.

So, as you may recall, I am a bit of an “overpacker” but I have been getting much better about things. I realized that I don’t actually need the six pairs of shoes, eight different eye shadows or colossal-sized bottle of shampoo that I tend to bring along on four-day trips. In fact, I’m proud to say that I’m not even going to check my luggage for this getaway, which is a first for me. (I know what you’re thinking: Poor Mr. Beauty Mark.)

Of course, I’ve thought about what to bring with me for the past week and how I’m going to squeeze it all in a bag that fits it in an overhead compartment. What can I say? I like costume changes and makeup options on vacation. But I think I’ve found the perfect combination of beauty items for a fun-filled, long weekend without having to wait in the luggage carousel line.
