All eyes on the red carpet at Sunday’s Grammy Awards went straight to Lady Gaga and her solar-system gown that was totally out of this world.
Lady Gaga has become fashion’s favorite chameleon and she didn’t disappoint with this shiny, silvery, three-dimensional number that was created in collaboration with Giorgio Armani. She then opened the show in a green fairy-wing bodysuit – with matching green sparkle booties, of course.
“I am honored to be wearing Armani this evening. The series of pieces Mr. Armani created for me are truly iconic; they represent not only beautiful fashion, but my spirit and essence as an artist,” she said in a statement. Read the full story

Beyonce became the most decorated female on a Grammy night as she collected six trophies, including song of the year for her anthem “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” but it was another diva — Taylor Swift — who nabbed the top honor, album of the year, for her best-selling “Fearless.”
Swift, who won a total of four awards, jumped around like the 20-year-old kid that she is when she beat out Beyonce, the Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas for the honor.
“Oh wow — thank you so much! I just hope that you know how much this means to me…. that we get to take this back to Nashville,” said Swift, whose “Fearless” was last year’s best-selling album of any genre.
“Oh my God, our families are freaking out in their living rooms,” she added. “My dad and my little brother are losing their minds in the living room right now.”
Although Beyonce also lost out on record of the year, which went to the Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody,” the multihyphenate entertainer still owned the most awards of the evening.

Taylor Swift and Beyonce will perform at the Grammy Awards next month.
The Recording Academy said Tuesday that other performers will include the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Maxwell. Beyonce has 10 Grammy nominations; Swift has eight.
A stage-crashing Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards to say Beyonce should have won for best female video instead. West later apologized.
The Grammys will be presented at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 31. The show will air on CBS.
The Recording Academy says additional performers will be announced at a later date.

Most of us old enough to be interested in a Lionel Richie concert might remember the former Commodore’s hosting gig at the 1985 “American Music Awards,” during which he proclaimed every other thing that happened that night “Out-RAGEOUS!” I don’t remember the show being all that outrageous, honestly, except that by the next morning, all the DJs were playing the clip of Lionel saying that word, over and over again. They may have been making fun, but Lionel stuck with it, calling his 1986 tour the “Outrageous” tour and even putting a song called “Outrageous” on his 2004 album “Just For You.”
At Sunday night’s satisfyingly hit-packed show at Hollywood’s Hard Rock Live, a pumped and energetic Richie was pimping a different phrase, one no less enthusiastic than “Outrageous!” but much more obvious.

Taylor Swift has won just about every top music award there is this year, but the possibility of winning not just one, but eight Grammys, had the 19-year-old screaming for joy as the nominations were announced.
“I started freaking out and jumping up and down,” Swift said in a telephone interview Wednesday night after learning of her nominations, which included album of the year for her sophomore CD “Fearless” and mentions for song and record of the year.
“I honestly never would have predicted this, eight nominations – I’m ecstatic, and blown away and so so thankful,” the stunned country sensation said.

Is Beyonce too sexy for Malaysia?
That might be the case after the singer postponed her Oct. 19 show in Kuala Lumpur, shortly following accusations from a Muslim conservative group that the show would be immoral, according to Billboard.
Officials with Marctensia, the Malaysian entertainment group promoting the show, declined to say whether the decision was prompted by criticism by the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, the nation’s largest opposition group. The group called for the show to be canceled because it would promote “Western sexy performances.”
Beyonce canceled a performance in Malaysia in 2007 over similar opposition. She performed instead in Indonesia, which is also a largely Islamic country but has less strict guidelines for performers.
NEW YORK (AP) — Jay-Z will hold a Sept. 11 benefit concert in New York City.
The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund says the rapper is scheduled to make the announcement Monday at Madison Square Garden. He’ll be joined by Gov. David Paterson, Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.
Robbie Williams has been named music’s greatest superstar of all time.
The ‘Angels’ singer – who hasn’t released a song since 2007 – topped a poll by MTV, beating his former bandmates Take That and the late ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson, proving he still has a strong following.
A source said: “This proves that Robbie is still a superstar in many people’s minds.”
