Don't they look cute in their day clothes? And some will wish they'd kept them on when they see what's in store for them.
Thirteen beautiful princesses need an eye-catching look for an industry event. Some will get dresses that look as if fairy god-designers created them. Others will be going to the ball in outfits designed by rabid forest creatures. Or pants from their own closets.
But haven’t we heard this fairy tale before? Project Runway, please stop recycling challenges. Although the past challenge I refer to was creating a wedding gown for the designers’ model, and came in season one, this is getting a little too close for comfort. But it does prove a point: While models have great street fashion, they aren’t always so good at picking high fashion, or even simple evening looks. Read the full story

Tim, I don't want this image burned on my retinas forever. And why did they make you stand next to a trash can?!
It comes quickly in the Project Runway seasons, blowing in like a sandstorm. And if you can’t play nice in the sandbox, you’re going home.
I speak, of course, of the team challenge. Episode three, and here we go.
Everyone hops in the vans for a little trip to…the Santa Monica Pier! Oh, how I miss that place. Such delights I had there, riding the Ferris wheel, buying cheap jewelry, getting hit on by an off-duty cop. But I digress… You know, moving Project Runway out to the West Coast has actually provided a nice influx of sand, sun and fun. Greetings fellow fashionistas! Whether you know how to wield a needle and thread, have a mean peddle foot with your Singer, Brother or Janome machine, or just like a little drama with your Thursday nights, I’m here to help you relive the fabric-flinging fun that is Project Runway.

NEW YORK (AP) — c: After a massive delay, “Project Runway” is revealing its new batch of aspiring fashion designers. Until now, they lurked in the shadows, prematurely sidelined by a legal battle over the popular design-challenge series, which began on Bravo but ended up in the hands of Lifetime.
As the female friendly network prepares for the Aug. 20 premiere, the 16 contestants’ diverse faces and backgrounds are ready for launch. Three of them — Nicholas Putvinksi, Gordana Gehlhausen and Irina Shabeyeva — hail originally from Russia, Bosnia and the Republic of Georgia, respectively.
Yet another contestant, Malvin Vein, lists his favorite designer as “himself” and inspiration as “the farmers of rural China.” Another, Louise Black, claims the first garment she ever sewed was her very own wedding dress.
Nearly half call New York City home.
