Taking Your Pulse: What’s your favorite local romantic restaurant?

This one might be our most subjective poll to date for Taking Your Pulse.

When talking about “romantic restaurants”, the style of restaurant depends on the person. Some couples enjoy the traditional quiet place, with the piano and the candles on the table and booths. Others prefer perhaps a livelier place. Others love a good view.

So we’ve put out about 30 or so places that we think might fit the bill — but we’re also leaving it open to you. Do you have a better choice for a romantic place down here? Click other and fill in a write-in vote. If your place gets enough, we’ll add it in.

Taking Your Pulse: What’s your favorite local grocery store?

UPDATE: Added Annie’s Vintage Gourmet, Amici Market and Aldi.

It seems like Palm Beach County has a huge variety of grocery stores.

There’s the basic model. There’s the gourmet model. There’s the one attached to a big box store. There are the ones that feature farm fresh food.

(By the way, if you’re wondering about the warehouse stores, like Costco and Sam’s Club, they’re getting their own poll later on.)

Tell us your favorite grocery store and we’ll give you the results on Monday. Don’t see your favorite? Give them a write-in vote in the blank below.

Taking Your Pulse: What’s your favorite local barbecue place?

UPDATE: We added Mississippi Sweets in Wellington/Boca.

“The key to a good barbecue” is the kind of discussion that varies from person to person. Some like a sweet sauce, others a vinegar-based version. Some like a spicy rub. Some use the good ol’ cooker. Some use firewood.

Whatever your taste, we’d like to know what your favorite local barbecue joint is.

And yes, we’ve done this one before — this was actually our very first Taking Your Pulse poll last January. Unfortunately, we only had 33 votes, and I know there are more barbecue fans than that in Palm Beach County.

So vote in our poll — and if you don’t see your favorite, click “other” and give us a write-in. We’ll mention the top votegetters there as well.
