This is gonna be a long. long season.

The Samoan castaways of the Foa Foa tribe on your favorite CBS den of lying campers are playing right into the hands of Eeeevil Russell, and as long as they do, this is going to be one boring season.

The idiot Foaians are demonstrating one of my sister’s most accurate Survivorisms, which is : “That player is so powerful and shady.  Oh, if only there was some device in this game by which we could get rid of them, so that they’re not a factor?”

Idiots.

Of course, none of them see the bull that Russell is spinning in his confessionals, or that he’s a rage-spewing, grudge-keeping, reactive little troll. But it’s  so, so lame – Russell says he’s in control of the game, and in kicking the fabulous Betsey out, they’re playing into his hands. And it’s not interesting or cunning. It’s just stupid.

Why didn’t they get rid of Ben first? He’s lazy, takes cheap shots and called Yasmin, visiting from the victorious Galu tribe, “ghetto trash.” And yes, Yasmin is a tool. Seriously. But that’s nasty. You kicked a dude in the shins. That’s not trashy?

Can’t stand Ben. Can’t stand Russell. Can’t stand Yasmin. Loved Betsey.

Used to love this show.

9 Responses to ““Survivor”: Russell’s evil. Yawn.”

  1. Ann says:

If I were the FBI, I’d be investigating unsolved murders in any town Russell’s ever lived in. His personality screams “serial killer.”

I love your take that Russell makes the game boring. It’s very true. Keeping Betsy would have been much more interesting. It’s all Russell, and frankly, none of us can really identify with him–he’s a sociopath, for crying out loud. Give me someone I can really root for; not a bunch of sheep.

I’m sure the producers of Survivor calculated that having a sociopath in the game would generate so much excitement and controversy, it would be great for ratings. But you’re absolutely right–instead, it’s just plain boring.

  2. Pam says:

Russell claims he is a multi-millionaire with his own oil company. I realize they want to juice up the show, but does this seem fair to the others? His attitude is repulsive. I already can’t stand him and can’t wait for him to be kicked off. I also wonder if he is truly like that in real life or is this all for the show? If he win’s I’ll never watch Survivor again!

  3. peabo says:

    > If he wins I’ll never watch Survivor again!

    stop watching now.

  4. lisa says:

How is it not fair to the other contestants if a rich player is in the game? The show is not a charity. Whoever makes it to the end and gets the jury votes deserves the win, no matter how much or little money they already have.

I think Russell is very interesting, and one of the best reasons to watch this season. His tribemates are mostly stupid and lazy, and he deserved to find the Immunity Idol. He was the only one with the sense to look for it! I hope he goes far in the game.

  5. Pam says:

The contestants are vying for a million dollars. He already has millions. That’s fair? Some people may think Russell is interesting. I think he’s obnoxious. I do agree that his teammates are stupid and lazy and can’t see the control he has over them.

  6. Will says:

You think life should be fair? Strange.

  7. James says:

lol Russell is making this season the best one yet. He’s one of the best I seen on this show and hope he wins. I don’t agree with this Article at all. He found 3 hidden idols by himself Thats amazing in it self.

  8. James: I wrote this back on September 24, before Russell found his second and third idols. He is starting to impress me, but it still seems that the producers edited the show in the knowledge that he was going to be impressive in the latter stages of the game, so they have been trying to convince viewers that he’s always been brilliant when there was little evidence of that.

It would have been so much more interesting if they had just let it unfold.

He has been pretty crafty lately, although I’ll never believe they haven’t made it easy for him to find those Idols. Too much of a coincidence.

  9. Boss says:

So weak deserve money over strong because they don’t have money already, because they are weak?
