Is Scrubs done?
Zach Braff says so. Its creator is pretty sure.
The only people that aren’t saying the long-running medical sitcom has seen its last patient: ABC, the network that grabbed it off NBC’s firing line.
(And then there’s people like me, who assumed the show ended three or four years ago.)
E! Online is reporting that Braff, who appeared as Scrubs‘ lead character, J.D., from its 2001 debut until December, is saying on his Facebook page that the show is no more:
Many of you have asked, so here it is: it appears that “New Scrubs”, “Scrubs 2.0″, “Scrubs with new kids”, “Scrubbier”, “Scrubs without JD” is no more. It was worth a try, but alas… it didn’t work. zb
Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence isn’t being that definite, but he does have his doubts: “In my heart and head I felt like Scrubs ended last year. This year was a bit of a spinoff, but I really liked it, I liked what they did. They worked really hard.”
ABC hasn’t officially pulled the plug on the show, but it seems more of the show’s actors are moving on. According to E!, Donald Faison has started working on the CBS pilot The Odds, where he plays a cop in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Sarah Chalke has signed on for a comedy pilot for ABC called Freshmen, reports Digital Spy.
