Producers of a crime show set and filmed in Detroit are expected to meet with the City Council to hear concerns about the drama’s content.

Some council members have said they worry “Detroit 1-8-7″ will play on negative stereotypes. A meeting is scheduled Tuesday afternoon.

The title uses a former California police code for homicide and is set to air in September. The show is shot from the perspective of a documentary film crew tasked with shadowing Detroit homicide detectives.

Councilman Kwame Kenyatta has said the show’s title associates Detroit with murder.

Detroit has been unable to shake its reputation of being a violent city, despite reductions in overall violent crime. More than 700 homicides were committed in 1974. Last year, the city recorded 364 criminal homicides.
