You never know where the next great American Idol catchphrase or unlikely superstar is coming from. We’ve had William Hung. We’ve had “Some people just weren’t likin’ it!” And, of course, there’s Sanjaya.
(Soup fans, work with me here… Sanjaaaayaaaah.)
Anyway, we may have found our new superstar. But this one actually had a great message for our youth. I give you Gen. Larry Platt and his soon-to-be-hit, “Pants on the Ground”:

This guy is my idol. He speaks of truth.
This crap is an indication of how out of touch a large portion of this countery is.
I like PANTS ON THE GROUND.
If we all could just stop wearing our pants on the ground, then the world would be a better place.
This guy’s got style.
I LOVE Gen. Larry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this guy! Very catchy phrase! I would not be surprised to see this guy on the final show like Idol normally does with the ‘funniest’ contestant! :)
this guy is freakin hiliarious
LOVE General Larry! He’s awesome and speaks the truth. I hope he gets his 15 minutes. He deserves it and has a worthy message.
Pretty ironic that Mr. Platt has lived long enough to see a black President, only to be publicly humiliated by age discrimination instead.
And we’ve already had a bunch of old Presidents, haven’t we?
Joking aside, why do we tolerate age discrimination on our publicly-licensed airwaves?
I don’t think you can really call it age discrimination if it’s a rule to the show. It would be a little different if there were no age rules and then they told a contestant “you’re too old”. But the rules are clearly stated- and they’ve bumped the age up quite a bit from Idol’s first season. I believe the original cut-off age was 21. Not sure though. Only women can audition for a lot of “dating” reality shows, and I don’t consider that sex discrimination.
I wish people would hear the message. I love the song and admire his dedication to something he believes is indicative of so much that is wrong with young people. I think so, too. I hope all the “gangstas” hear this man, think of what he has done, and follow his advice. They do look like fools. Dumbass, not to be taken seriously, fools. That’s what they WANT to be is the worst part. Go, General Larry! Keep singing!
General Larry is the white man’s bitch. He teaches to judge people by the way they look rather than the content of their heart. Way to go you piece of shit. Sagging pants and dreadlocks no your thing? Fuck off. If you ain’t from the ghetto, don’t fucking come to the ghetto.
