Basically, Jimmy Kimmel’s appearance on Late Night With David Letterman was the equivalent of two guys reminiscing about giving another guy his comeuppance.

Letterman thanked Kimmel for his role in “the Jay Leno scandal”, and Kimmel mocked Letterman for letting Leno off easy with his Super Bowl ad.

“I would like to keep it going,” Kimmel said, “but you … we had him, we were drowning him, and you threw a lifesaver out to him during the Super Bowl.”

“No, I think we can still fire it up,” Letterman replied.

The two discuss Kimmel’s entire show as Leno, his subsequent appearance and “sucker punch” on Leno’s 10@10 segment and more:
