MTV confirmed that Jersey Shore and its quickly famous cast is coming back for a second season — to a completely new place.
Though no one is saying outright what the destination is, several news sources are hinting that South Beach is at least high on the list. The Chicago Sun-Times‘ Bill Zwecker reports that the South Florida spot is ideal for the time of year the cast and crew is planning to shoot, this winter:
South Beach in Miami is the most likely new setting for the ”Jersey Shore” troupe — given taping episodes this winter in New Jersey would be far from beach-like! Los Angeles area communities are also being considered, but Miami Beach is the most likely site.
The Miami Herald‘s Lesley Abravanel adds that one Jersey Shore cast member, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, is appearing at a Super Bowl watch party at Finnegan’s on the River in Miami.
Here’s E!’s report on the cast definitely getting the second season, and probably getting its salary request at least partly met:

As someone who was born and raised in NY and has also lived in Miami Beach I feel the need to chime in. Miami and especially south beach natives are some of the least classy and most trashy people I’ve ever come into contact with. Shit, aside from parts of Ocean Drive , most of miami is practically slums. You guys are lucky that MTV is even considering coming down there.

I’m from VA and the first thing I thought when I heard Jersey Shore in South Beach was… ummmm… they are not hot enough for Miami. The only one even remotely cute enough is Sammie and she’d still need to hit the gym hard to compete with the women in South Beach. I’ve been there and everyone is beautiful. It forces you to step up your game and never leave the house without being on your A game. But regardless, “the situation” looks like Pauly Shore. He is disgusting and has no game. All the men in the house with maybe the exception of Ronnie are going to get ignored by women in SB. I’ve seen truly gorgeous men being rejected by women down there. They don’t stand a chance. And SB is a place where I’ve witness fat girls being turned away from clubs.
