"We have a new set! Does this mean we can get a new storyline?"

Above is a first glimpse of the brand-new nurses’ station of the new General Hospital on “General Hospital.” The previous nurses’ station, along with most of the hospital, burned down in a dastardly toxin attack, that was only slightly more dastardly than that monkey virus, or than one of the weekly hostage crisis/fire/shark attack events that used to happen on “ER.”

Here’s hoping that along with the new set comes new writers, new attention to continuity and history, a new focus on veterans and not on the stupid ugly mob, and maybe some new minority characters who don’t just provide wisdom to white people or die tragically because the writers get too lazy to write for them.

I know. It’s a crazy hope. But I’m holding it out anyway.

Here are my 8 tips that would help the daytime soap.
